The Meaning of the Christ the Vine Icon
“I am the Vine, you are the branches.”
Christ is shown at the center, with apostles extending outward like living branches.
This icon teaches that spiritual life flows from union with Christ. Apart from Him, we wither.
It proclaims the unity of the Church and the necessity of remaining rooted in divine life.
Materials & craftsmanship
Handcrafted in Greece on a solid wood panel, reproduced with museum-quality Byzantine seriography and finished with genuine 18kt gold leaf.
Shipping & returns
Ships from Boynton Beach, Florida. If anything is not right, you have 30 days from delivery to request a return (unused, in its original packaging), and we send you the return label.
Caring for your icon
Keep your icon out of direct sunlight and away from damp walls and heat. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth, and never use water or cleaning products on the gold leaf. If you keep a vigil lamp or candles nearby, leave space so soot does not settle on the icon.
Having your icon blessed
Many Orthodox Christians bring a new icon to their parish priest to be blessed before placing it in the home. Just bring it with you to church and ask Father after the service.
