Prayer Corners
The prayer corner — known in the Orthodox tradition as the icon corner, the beautiful corner, or simply God's place — is the spiritual heart of an Orthodox Christian home. It is the space set apart for daily prayer, a place where we stand before God in the presence of the holy icons. Traditionally placed on an east-facing wall, the prayer corner holds (typically) an icon of Christ and an icon of the Theotokos, often alongside a vigil lamp, a cross, incense, and icon(s) of one's patron saint. Whether it fills an entire shelf or rests on a small table, every prayer corner reflects the faith of the home it dwells in. We invite you to share yours.
